Apple has recently anounced an interesting feature called which is included in MobileMe. Actually this feature is like an iPhone tracking software. The iPhone user just have to enable this function in MobileMe and then login to me.com from any computer to get its current location. By using this software, the users not only can protect their privacy such as phone numbers and personal information, and can even retrieve their iPhones. The key features are listed below:
- Track your lost or stolen iPhone. Anyone enabled Find My Iphone can login to me.com and get the approximate location of his iPhone on a map.
- Set a passkey remotely and lock iPhone. If you lost your iPhone and not sure where it is right now, you can sign in to me.com and send a four-digit passkey to lock your iPhone, so nobody can access it.
- Use remote wipe to restore to factory settings. If you can no longer find his/her iPhone, a remote wipe can be initiated, so that all personal infomation includes the phone book, pictures and emails will all be deleted. But if you get your iPhone back anyway, you can always restore the personal information back by enabling your MobileMe account.
Further more, Find My Iphone has another feature, it can show a message or play a sound. This feature is very helpful if you forget where you leave your iPhone. Just ask MobileMe to play a sound and you will find your iPhone.
